Tag: What's On My iPhone?

I saw this tag going around Youtube, and since my iPhone is definitely one of my most prized posessions, I just had to do this tag!

My main screens

I just recently put all of my apps into categorized folders.  I find it much easier than having to scroll through several screens.  I love my background wallpaper, it's from weheartit.com.

My Fave Apps/ Most Used Apps

My most used apps are texting, my camera and my email.  But I think those are everyone's most used apps! Here are my fun fave and most used apps.

♥ Instagram

Who doesn't love Instagram? It's like Twitter in photo form.  I love following some of my favorite style and beauty bloggers and celebrities.  It's so nice to take a sneak peak into people's lives.

♥ Pandora

I have a lot of music on my phone that I listen to when I'm on the road, but if I'm home connected to my WiFi, I love to listen to music through Pandora.  I especially love to rock out when I'm getting ready or in the shower.

♥ Open Table

I love going out to eat.  It's probably my favorite past time.  Open Table is a great way to make reservations or to find local restaurants.  I don't think I've called restaurants to make reservations in months.

♥ Groupon

I subscribe to a lot of these daily deal type sites, but Groupon is definitely my favorite.  They always have fantastic local deals and their Groupon Goods have been amazing lately! This app notifies me of any deals that I'm interested in and also holds all my vouchers.

♥ Photography Apps

I've just recently starting playing around with different photography apps, especially since my interest in Instagram grew.  Camera+, Camerabag and CamWow are all editing and effects apps.  PopBooth makes pics look like those photo strips you can get from photoboths.  Frametastic and PicCollage make photo collages and Phonto and PhotoEditor give you the ability to add text to any pics.

Those are just some of my favorite and most used apps.  What are your fave or must used apps?

P.S. I'm tagging anyone who has an iPhone! Please link back to this post if you do it.

Travel Essentials

This past weekend I traveled to Ocean City, Maryland for my BFF's bachelorette weekend.  It was 7 girls crammed into one room, so I knew space was going to be at a premium.  I packed one small weekend bag with a lot of space saving products so I could take up as little room as possible.  Trust me, this was a good thing because within an hour that room was a MESS haha.

My pics have been below par lately on my iPhone, so I finally ordered a SD card for the new digital camera I got for Christmas, so pics in this post will be from around the wonderful world wide web.

Hanging Organizer

I don't like using one makeup bag for my cosmetics and the items that I take into the shower with me, so I really like these hanging toiletry bags.  I use the mesh pouch to keep items that may be damp when I pack them, the plastic pouch for skincare items and the largest part for my cosmetics.  It stores everything I need and I could hang it so it doesn't take up precious counter space.

This item is from Amazon, but I find that I can purchase these really inexpensively at places like TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Home Goods.

Travel Size Products/ Samples

Of course this is an obvious one, but as I discovered with my girls this weekend, not always followed.  I can't stand toting full size products with me, so I save all of my samples and gifts with purchase sized items to travel with.  Also, purchasing travel sized items helps.  I keep these items packed in my hanging organizer so they are always ready for a trip.

Shick Intuition Razor

Going to the beach, a razor is a necessity!  Why lug a razor and shaving cream when you can just bring one product that serves both purposes.

Jewelry Roll

Jewelry are my favorite accessories and also the easiest to travel with.  Don't just throw them in a bag or let them get tangled.  Also, don't bring really expensive jewelry with you when you travel, you don't want to chance anything.

Any other products that make travel and packing a little easier?  I'd love to know!

Product Rave: The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Mask

I'm a really a big fan of The Body Shop.  For some reason though, the stores don't do well by me and I'm left with only one local store, when there used to be 4!  I find they make a great quality product and for much cheaper than a lot of high end skin care lines.  They also have crazy sales!

I bought this Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Mask sometime last year during a 3 for $30 sale.  It's regularly $22, so that was a pretty good deal!  You can purchase this at your local The Body Shop or here .

I use this once a week after exfoliating my skin.  I use a very tiny amount, so this product will last you a very long time.  I have dry skin, even some dry patches in the summer, and I find this provides me with the perfect amount of moisture.  I don't really see a difference in my skin, but definitely feel a difference in my skin after using this product.  It helps provide a smooth canvas for my makeup.

As you can see, the texture is very similar to Pond's Cold Cream.  I use a very small amount and spread a thin layer all over my face..if your skin is very dry you may feel a very slight tingling sensation.  I leave it for about 10 minutes and then wipe it off with a dry wash cloth.  A quick splash of water to get off any excess, and you're all good!

Have you tried this product or any other products from The Body Shop? I'm really liking this brand, and would love to know if there is anything else I should try.

Coconut Oil: Your new fave product!

A couple of weeks ago I bought a jar of organic coconut oil at my local Trader Joe's for under $10.  I bought it, because Rachel from Checkinthemirror, uses it as a deep conditioning treatment for her hair.  I had to give this a whirl.  I used it a few times and loved the results (note wash thoroughly!!!) and I wanted to look up some other uses for Coconut Oil! Here are some of my faves.

If you have super dry hair use a tiny bit as hair product to keep flyaways at bay or slick your hair back.

Moisturize your lips

Use as shaving scream

Add to your tub for moisturizing soak

Spread a thin layer on cuts to help speed up healing

Hello, massage oil!

Prevent stretch marks (wish I had known this!)

Eat a spoonful with each meal to help with indigestion

Cuticle oil..perfecto!

Use on new tattoos

These are only the ones I've tried (with the exception of the tat one), and they all work quite well.  I've also read you could use this as a makeup remover, but I'm a little nervous to try that.  Does anyone else this super oil?

What I'm Watching and Reading This Week

Summer is right around the corner and I have a lot of events coming up.  I have a bachelorette weekend, a wedding and then a huge wedding that I'm in.  It's important to be my fittest to not only look my best, but to have the energy for it all!  I am a lazy person when it comes to working out, and every now and then I need a huge kick in the ass.  I enjoyed this video to help keep up my motivation to be healthy and fit.

What I'm Reading This Week

I'm not an avid watcher of The Office, but if it's on I'll definitely watch it and most likely laugh a lot.  Kelly Kapoor has always been one of my favorite characters on The Office, and I really like Mindy Kaling the actress who plays her.  I had been hearing a lot of good things about her book, so when I saw it at the library last week I snatched it up.

If you are a female between the ages of 17-100, you will love and laugh hysterically at this book!  It covers everything from her breaking into show business, her awkward growing up stage, fashion, dieting, dating..everything.  I highly recommend it!

Glossy Box-May

I've been seeing Glossy Box videos from some of my UK Youtube friends for a while.  I never watched any of those videos though, because I knew Glossy Box wasn't available in the US.  About a month ago I started seeing American gurus putting up Glossy Box videos and I was so excited to see that they were offering a US Service!  I won't even lie, I love getting mail.  Magazines, catalogs, letters, love it!  Everything except bills haha.  I only have one Stylemint shirt and didn't think it was worth the $30 and while I do like some Jewelmint pieces, I'll only purchase something if it's really unique because I love the jewelry section of Forever 21 and Charming Charlies.  When it comes to beauty subscription services I only have the QVC Beauty Tube still.  I became disappointed with Birchbox and didn't love a lot of the brands offered by Beauty Army.

Along came Glossy Box.  Glossy Box is $21 a month, but the products are worth it.  The sizes are worth it.  I hope Glossy Box can maintain this quality month to month, because I was quite pleased with my first box.

The theme of this month's Glossy Box was some popular products from around the world.  As you can see there are quite a few full sized products and even the sample sized products are a decent size.

From L to R:
Phyto Phytojoba Intense Hydrating Mask for Dry Hair from France
Full price - $38 for 6.7 oz  I received 1.7 fl oz.

Amore Pacific Moisture Bound Refreshing Hydra-Gel
Full price- $100 for 1.7 oz I received .27 fl oz

Burberry Beauty Lip Mist Natural Sheer Lipstick Copper No. 202 from UK
Full price- $30 for .12 oz I received .028 oz

Zoya Profesional Laquer in Rory from USA
Full price- $8 for .5 oz and that's what I received!

Marvis Whitening Toothpaste from Italy
$7.50 for 1.23 oz and that's what I received!

Bonus Glossybox Brush on Top!

All in all I received 2 full size products and very, very generous sample sizes of the other products.  These are expensive brands that I never would have tried otherwise, maybe with the exception of Zoya.  I can't wait to try some of these babies.

I had to sample the Burberry lippie right away. I love how the pattern is imprinted on the product itself! The color looks scary but it swatches it very nice and glossy.
