November Favorites

November is coming to a close, which means the holiday season is upon us! I am such a corny holiday person.  I love the music, the decorations, the movies and the food.  I love shopping for the perfect presents and then wrapping them horribly.  I can't wait to go pick out my Christmas tree!

Anyway..November was a month with out a lot of experimentation for me, so my favorites are pretty minimal.  Here they are!

Earth Therapeutics Sleep Mask- I've had this sleep mask for a while, and it used to contain a ice/hot packet, but I lost it along the way.  Now I just use it on the weekends.  My internal clock wakes me up at around 8 am on the weekends, so when I wake up I slip this baby on and head back to sleep.  Not the cutest sleep mask out there, but it does the job.

Melt Massage Bar in Lickin' the Beaters-  I bought this a few summers ago at the Melt store in Provincetown.  I just started really using it this fall and I LOVE it.  This is by the far the best cake scented product I've ever tried and it's super moisturizing.

White Barn Candle in Marshmallow Fireside- This smell is just delicious! It's a bit of a manly scent and it's very cozy and soothing.  I've been hooked on White Barn/Slatkin & Co candles for the past few months.

Ralph Lauren Romance Perfume- My friend Celia gave me a box of mini Ralph Lauren perfumes.  I've tried them all, but this Romance perfume is by far my favorite.  It's very subtle and romantic.  A big departure from my sweet and food scented sprays and perfumes.

Costco Set Crease Eye Brush- This brush was part of the Kirkland Christmas brush set from Coscto last year.  I didn't like it that much as a crease brush, but I wanted to find a way to make it work.  This works as a great concealer brush with my Glamouflage concealer.  I swirl it in small circles and the product blends seamlessly into my skin.

Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet- I've found myself reaching for darker colors this fall, and this is definitely one of my favorites.  It's a subtle take on a red lip and really helps brighten up my super pale skin.

ELF Lip and Eye Color from ELF's Evil Everyday Eyes Cruella Set- Last week I wanted to do a red lip, but I couldn't find the one red lip liner I thought I had.  I remembered seeing one in this set that my Tammy sent me and decided to try it out.  I was actually really impressed with the color and staying power.  It is a bit on the drying side though, so make sure to heavily exfoliate and moisturize your lips!

What have your favorite products of November been?

Gift Guide: The Men in your life

This week's Fabulously Thrifty Gift Guide is dedicated to the men in your life.  I don't want to limit this to just boyfriends/husbands, because these gifts can be great for dads, brothers, friends..any important fella in your life.

Sports Team Glasses
I love my sports and I know a lot of the men in your life do.  However, you are probably sick of seeing the same hat, jersey, ratty old t-shirt.  Why not get them some glassware with their team's logo on it? It's a less obvious way to show their support!

The Art of Shaving Starter Kit- $33
I've bought this for my dad and some of the fella's in my life, and it's always a big hit!  These products are specifically formulated for men and for facial shaving and the smell is just so yummy!

Lord of the Rings Box Set- $23
Are you lucky enough to have one of those guys who loves to read? Why not get them the box set of their favorite series.  I know guys love their Kindles just like we do, but a box set is just so much nicer to have and to display!

Their Favorite Video Game
I'll admit it, I don't see the appeal of actual video games, but the fella's seem to like them.  Getting him one of his favorite games will sure to be a big hit!

Desktop Horse Racing Game- $18
I swear, I've never met a guy who wasn't very amused by any type of desktop game.  This desk top horse racing game will ensure he thinks of you at work every day when he's bored and starts playing games when he should be working!

Mel Brooks Blu-Ray Collection $40
A way to a man's heart is through his funny bone.  Keep him laughing with a comedy DVD or Blu-Ray collection.

Grown Up Art
Who doesn't remember going into a boy's dorm room and seeing tons of posters all around?  Well, give them grown up art work this time.  Go on to Etsy.com and search dictionary art and then whatever character or movie your guy likes.  Most likely, someone made something and it's much more creative than just a poster.

A manly coffee table book
I'm always impressed when I go into a guys apartment and see an interesting coffee table book put on display.  Head onto amazon and search coffee table book + whatever topic you think they'd be interested in.  I find that the best ones are in comics and cars.

What are you thinking of getting for the special guys in your life this season?

F21 50% Off Haul ::pic heavy::

A few weeks ago I tweeted about an amazing sale that Forever 21 was having, an extra 50% off sale items!  They are currently running the same promotion, so I decided to post my haul pics now.

CLOTHING

Essential Longline Cami (I also purchased it in black)- $3.80

Boxy Open Knit Sweater- $7.32 (can't wait for summer to wear this!)
 Chunky Knit Sweater- $7.99
This was the only fail of the haul.  The neck opening was SUPER tiny and there was even a hole in the arm.  I'm turning this into leg warmers/boot toppers.
Sequined Shoulder Top- $7.03

Striped 3/4 Sleeve Top- $3.91
Can you tell I was Taylor Swift inspired with this top?

Quilted Jacket- $14.14
This was the best buy of the bunch! I love the cropped fit of this and the quilted detailing.

Boston Raglan Top- $3.50
Ordered this in a large so it'd be super big and slouchy.

I also ordered the Houndstooth blazer seen in my Thanksgiving OOTD here.  The cost of this item was $12!

OTHER GOODIES

Diagonal Pyramid Bracelet- $2.50

Nail polishes- 50 cents each!
Shimmering Nail Polish, Purple Party, Girly Grape

I'd love to know if anyone else picked anything up from either the Veteran's Day sale or the Black Friday sale!

Fitspiration: Mini Workouts

So my Fitspiration journey hasn't been going as well these past two weeks.  I've lost three pounds, but as I'm getting ready to go to weddings or holiday events or dates I'm just so uncomfortable with how I look and how things fit on me.

I know that my tv show loving self does not help with my fitspiration journey.  If a workout interferes with my shows, that work out won't happen!  I have a stationary bike that I frequently use, but sometimes I don't feel that I push myself as much while riding the bike.  I also feel like I want to incorporate more strength moves into my work outs.

That's where my lovely little Pinterest mini workouts come in to play!  I've pinned a lot of these "burn 100 calorie" work outs from Pinterest and I love completing them during commercial breaks or even as soon as I get out of bed in the morning for a good way to start my day.

Anyone else utilize "commercial workouts"?  I know it's not the most effective work out since you don't keep your heart rate elevated, but during an hour show I get a good 15-20 minutes of activity in that I wouldn't normally!

Tag: I heart Drugstore

I think it's no secret that I love doing tags, and I also think it's no secret that I love drugstore makeup!  So to me, it was just a no brainer to do the I ♥ drugstore tag that I've seen going around youtube!

 1. Favorite Drugstore Brand?
I'd have to say Revlon.  It's not only the brand that I own the most cosmetics from, but it's a brand that I can really rely on when I want drugstore face products.  Close runner ups are ELF and NYX.

2.  Favorite:
Face product: Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup- Oh, this foundation is just love!  This makes my skin look flawless and the staying power is amazing!
Lip Product: (not pictured) Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brûlée- This nude Lip Butter is beyond amazing.  It's a very subtle taupe nude and the texture and moisture this product gives is just awesome.
Cheek Product: WnW Color Icon Blush in Pearlescent Pink- The pigmentation on these super cheap blushes is nothing short of amazing.  This is a very pretty shimmery pink/coral color.

3.  Least Favorite Product
WnW Idol Eyes Creme Shadow Pencil- I want to like this product so badly, but it just never stays intact for me.  I've tried storing this in the fridge or freezer, thinking it was melting, but every time I attempt to put this product on or sharpen it, the pencil just falls apart.

4.  Best Makeup Bargain
I have to go with my WnW Color Icon Blushes again.  These blushes are only $2.99 and I use them just as much as I use my Mac or Cargo blushes with equally fantastic results.

5.  Favorite Underdog Product
Revlon Photo Ready Concealer-I don't understand why this product doesn't get more love in the beauty community.  I love using this as an under eye concealer and to cover up redness around my nose.  The stick concealer has a surprisingly creamy consistency and provides great coverage.

6.  Drugstore Product That Is Overpriced
I know I love my Revlon foundations, but $13-$14 for a drugstore foundation is just ridiculous!  I always wait for a coupon or Revlon sale to purchase these foundations.

7.  Best Drugstore Dupe
I think the Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer is a great dupe for Kat Von D's Tattoo Concealer.  The consistency and staying power is very similar.  However, the color range of the Hard Candy concealer isn't as wide as that of the Kat Von D concealer.

8.  Drugstore Product Not Worth The Hype
I haven't had any luck with the Revlon Super Lusturous Lipglosses.  I don't know if it's the colors I choose or I just get lousy formulas, but they don't show up on my lips and they last all of 30 seconds.

I'd love to see any of you gals do this tag but I'm tagging:

Megsmakeup.com Haul

I think it's no surprise that I love the online beauty community.  I find myself watching beauty Youtube videos and reading beauty blogs daily.  One of the first online beauty communities I joined was Megsmakeup.com.  I really can't tell you how I discovered this site, but I am so glad I did!

Not only does this site provide fantastic product reviews, beauty tips, etc., but for every time you comment and like a post you earn points!  You can then exchange these points for surprise packages of makeup.  For 50 points you get one cosmetic item, for 150 points you get an "even cooler item" and for the max, 250 points you receive a bundle of goodies.  I wait until I reach 250 points.  It takes a while, but it's well worth it!  Megsmakeup.com is a great chance to earn free makeup and discuss various beauty related topics with other makeup addicts.

*Note: You do have to pay shipping and handling for your points package.  It also can take quite a few months to receive anything, but you will!  She frequently posts updates as to when packages will be shipped.

Here's my latest goody bag!

From L to R (bottom image):

Liptini Lip & Cheek Stain in Pink Lady ($18)
Sephora Shadow (color and price unknown)
Napoleon Perdis The Ultimate Contour Palette ($39)
Urban Decay Vintage Single Shadow in Mary Jane ($6)
Tarte Skinny SmolderEYES liner in Jade ($19)

So for only the cost of shipping and handling I received over $82 worth of makeup!  Holy cow!!

Swatches:

 Top to bottom:
Jade Liner- What a pretty color! It seems to be like an army green.  It goes on so smoothly and I've used makeup remover and showered and that damn swatch is still there!
Mary Jane Shadow- A pretty silvery color with a metallic sheen.  Great for the holiday season!
Contour Palette- Highlight- Blush- Contour- I love the idea of having the shades needed to contour in one palette so I'm very excited to try this baby out!

Sephora Shadow- I was a bit nervous that this shadow would appear super yellow gold, but it actually swatches quite nicely.  Also great for the holiday season!

Liptini- This swatch I just couldn't get to photograph properly.  The liquid in the bottle looks super dark, almost like blood, but then it swatches to a pretty plum like color.  I think I'm more comfortable with testing this on my cheeks rather than my lips, but I will definitely try both!

Are any of you other guys Meg readers? If you aren't, I highly suggest you save it under your favorites!

Tip Thursday: Boot Storage

To me, one of the only positives of the cold weather is that it becomes boot weather.  I love boots.  Storing boots properly is really important to maintain the shape and fit of the boot.  My favorite way to store them is one the floor of my closet with magazines rolled up in them to maintain their shape!

I've seen boot shapers being sold at many stores, and actually own a set myself, but rolled up magazines work just as well to maintain their shape and to keep the boots stored upright for easier visibility!

How do you store your boots?

Gift Guide: BFF

It's about that time, time to start holiday shopping!  I will admit, that I've already done a lot of holiday shopping, but still have a lot to go.  Some of my favorite blog posts to read around this time of year  are holiday gift guides!

Here's my gift guide for your female BFF.  All of my gift guides will feature gifts $50 and under! Warning: Going to be a looooooong post!

Girly Girl BFF

Ciate Caviar Manicure in Rainbow- $25
I have yet to try one of these mani sets, but I think they just look super girly and fancy.

Sparkly Clutch- $35
What girl doesn't love something sparkly?  This clutch is perfect for New Years Eve or to dress up a more casual going out outfit.  The envelope cut is timeless AND on trend at the same time!

NERDY GIRL

Hunger Games Trilogy Boxed Set- $30
I can't think of a single friend who didn't read this book series.  Most of my girls read this on their kindle, but there's just something about having the hardcover boxed set sitting on their shelves that makes it seem so much more exciting.  Plus, I guarantee they will be rereading the books as the new movies come out.

Mustache T-shirt- $6
Mustaches seem to be everywhere in fashion today! They are on clothing, clutches and especially jewelry.  This Mickey mustache t-shirt is just too cute and cozy looking.

TECHIE GIRL

Gem Earbuds- $11
I have so many pairs of Earbuds, but none as cute as these gem ones!  What girl wouldn't like to be bopping around with these in her ear while listening to her iPod!

Vera Bradley Tablet Sleeve- $38
The best part of having a tablet is being able to carry it around with you! Make sure your bff carries her tablet around with her safely and in style with this Vera Bradley sleeve.

FITNESS GIRL

Wii Zumba Fitness 2- $34
You all know that I love my Wii Zumba game.  It's so much fun and it honestly is a real workout.  Give this to your fit friend and then invite yourself over for a Zumba party.

VS Pink Yoga Legging- $35
I can't think of a  fitness gal who doesn't own at least one item from Victoria's Secret Pink line to use when working out (or lounging).  These yoga leggings are super comfortable and really great to use when working out because they are so fitted.

NATURAL GAL

Organic Argan Oil- $9
I can't think of a single beauty magazine or blog that hasn't mentioned Argan Oil in the past year.  It really seems to be a jack of all trade beauty product.  Give your natural BFF a bottle of organic argan oil to really test out it's beauty benefits.

American Apparel Pique Dolman Sleeve Dress- $36
American Apparel is known for using organic cotton in their products and this dress is proof that organic doesn't have to mean boring!

I know this is a horrible generalization of girls, and I could go on and on, but I hope this gives you some ideas on what to get your BFF this holiday season!
