Current Empties...Again

I have finished up quite a few products in the past month or so.  I also finished a makeup product which I always find is SO hard to do!  Here are the products I've finished and my thoughts on them.

*Jergens Natural Glow for Face- This product is not even technically empty, it was just so bad that I couldn't finish it.  This added zero color to my pale face and provided no moisture either.

*EOS Lip Balm- I think this is the Honeydew flavor.  I loved these EOS lip balms at first, and I still do like them, but after a while I think my lips may have adapted to them and they don't provide as much moisture.

*Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser- It took me a long time to go through this cleanser.  I did like this cleanser, but I wasn't blown away with it.  It was very gentle, but not as effective as removing makeup as a lot of the reviews suggest.  I have a few other washes to go through, but if I find any problems with other face washes, I will return to this super gentle cleanser.

*Prestige My Biggest Lashes Mascara- I received my first tube of this from Tammy and I love it!  This is a second tube and I do plan on repurchasing this after I try out some other mascaras.

*Avon Glimmersticks Brow Liner in Tawny- I did like this Avon brow liner, but I don't plan on purchasing Avon products anymore as I learned they do test on animals.

*Nature Republic Blackhead Brake- These are a cheaper alternative to the Biore pore strips.  I find it to be as effective as the Biore strips.  If I ever get the chance to visit one of these stores again, I plan on stocking up.

*Oil Blotting Sheets- My mom bought me these blotting sheets from the Japan section of Epcot.  They were super cheap and also super effective.  Next time I visit Disney World I hope they still have these to pick up.

*The ANF Rose Petal and Elderflower Toner- This was the first product I've used up from my All Natural Face haul.  I really liked this.  It was gentle and effective and natural!  I want to test out alcohol free witch hazel as a toner next, but if that doesn't work I do plan on repurchasing this.

*First Aid Beauty Smooth Shave Cream- I think I got this in a QVC Beauty Tube once and I really like it.  It's super smooth and provides a nick free shave.  It's a bit pricey for a shave cream though so I probably won't repurchase.

*Dry Idea Antiperspirant- This baby is a super hard core antiperspirant.  I would use this during those 90+ degree days and would remain relatively dry.  I'm trying to use more natural deodorant products, but on a really hot and humid day a product like this is a necessity.

*Bliss Lemon and Sage Body Butter- I also received this in a QVC Beauty Tube.  Lemon and sage sounds like an odd scent, but I actually really liked this scent.  It was fresh and perfect for the spring and summer.  I have so many lotions and creams to go through that I won't be repurchasing this.

*Shick Hydro 5 Razors- I really like using mens razors as I find they typically have more blades and shave better.  This will definitely be a repurchased item.

*CVS Brand Premium Cotton Squares- These were just ok.  When using these pads to remove nail polish they would sort of fall apart and they do shed a bit.  I won't be repurchasing this item.

*CVS Brand Daily Gummy Vitamins- You know I love my gummy vitamins!  These were cheap and yummy.  When they go on sale again, I will be repurchasing.

*Oscar Blandi Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray- I bought this from Sephora  a while ago after hearing everyone rave about it.  I really didn't notice a difference when using this spray.  I prefer my Batiste Dry Shampoo A LOT better.

*Crest 3d White Mouthwash- I'm not a big mouthwash girl, but this one wasn't my favorite.  It had more of a vinegar like taste and I didn't use it frequently enough to notice any kind of whitening effect.

Has anyone used any of the products that I just finished up?  I'd love to know your take on them!

Couponing Haul #2 + Mini Shoe Haul

This week's couponing deals weren't my best, but I do like everything I've purchased so I shouldn't complain.  This week I only made couponing purchases at Target and Victoria's Secret.

*Victoria's Secret Pink Lace Undie

So again, not the best deals, but I love to stock up on razors during the summer since I find the sales are better now and I am now IN LOVE with the Target Long and Lean tanks.  They are the perfect length and also not as sheer as their camisoles are.

I don't know about you, but I am a gift card hoarder.  I get plenty of gift cards for Christmas or my birthday and I'm not one to go out and spend them right away.  I prefer to save them for when I'm flat broke (such as now) yet still feel the need to go shopping or when I'm having a bit of a rough day or am stuck in a rut and need a little pick me up.

Yesterday was one of those days where I'm not only flat broke, but I really felt down in the dumps.  I heard Lord and Taylor was having a great shoe sale and I have about $100 worth of gift cards to LT so I decided to head on over.  I'm SUPER happy with my purchases.

*Guess Black Bedazzled Flats-
Regular price: $79
Clearance Price: $25

*Sam Edelman Glittery Flats (baby's first pair of Edelmans!)
Regular Price: $90
Clearance Price: $50

I LOVE these gold glittery flats.  I've never owned a pair of the flats that have the elastic sort of opening, so I'm intrigued to see how these will wear.

Did anyone else make any couponing or sale purchases this week?

Quick Tip Thursday: Four Your Eyes Only

This tip mainly goes out to my glasses wearer, but is also handy for those of you who wear sunglasses constantly.  I probably have the worlds' dirtiest glasses.  When I clean my glasses, I'm always shocked when I put them back on.  This is what vision is supposed to be like!  I usually clean my lenses a few times a week.  However, if you're a daily glasses wearer it's a good tip to remember to clean off the nose pads as well.  Whenever I look at those nose pads they are just covered in makeup.  If you suffer from break outs or clogged pores on the bridge of your nose, this may be a culprit!

Fall Lust List: Wardrobe Edition

Fall clothing is probably my favorite.  I love layering, and leggings, boots, and warm colors.  My fall style is very cozy and is usually topped off with a scarf.  Here are some of the fashion items that I'm lusting after this fall.

*Open Knit Sweater

I like a lot of the open knit sweater styles on Brandy Melville, but this Aero baby is cute and is on sale. I have to admit, after seeing some haul videos on Aero, I had to check out my local store and I'm impressed.  They have stepped up their game.  Not everything has Aero written across the chest and there are some mature pieces to be found.

*Skater Dress

I've loved the looks of the skater skirts, but I'm much more partial to dresses.  With skirts I'm never sure whether to tuck a shirt in or leave it out.  This dress takes some of that guess work out of it for me.  For September/October I can wear this barelegged and when it gets cooler out I think it'll look super cute with some grey tights and a cream chunky circle scarf.

*Tuxedo Jeans

As a short McShorty I look for anything that will lengthen me.  I love the look of tuxedo jeans, with a bold stripe going down the leg it plays a trick on the eye and makes legs look a little bit longer than they are.

* Bow Blouse

I've been seeing a lot of bow blouses in stores lately, and I really want to get in on this trend.  I think it looks so sophisticated, but the polka dot pattern on this shirt keeps it looking fresh.  Bow tie blouse just screams naughty secretary to me!

*Cream Infinity Scarf

I love the look of a cream scarf paired with pretty much any color.  This circle scarf adds warmth and cuteness.

*Black Wedge Sneaker

I don't know if these are on their way out or not, but I really want to get a pair of these.  I think they will look so cute with a pair of leggings or skinnies with an off the shoulder top.  Plus, I can use any inch I can get!

*Butterscotch Riding Boot

It can't be a fall wish list with out a pair of riding boots.  I love this rich butterscotch like color and feel that it can go with a variety of pieces.

What's on your fall fashion lust list?  I can keep going and going with this!

Fall Lust List: Beauty Edition

Oh another season is soon upon us!  I have to admit: Fall is my absolute favorite season!  There's football, and candy, and layering weather and leggings and boots.  SWOON!
Another season doesn't only mean a change in wardrobe, it means a change in beauty and skin care also.  Here are some items that I am ALREADY craving for the fall!

*Josie Maran Argan Lip & Cheek Color Stick

I must be the last kid on the block to try anything from Josie Maran.  The second the seasons change my skin begins to get dry.  I love the idea of these creamier blushes with argan oil to prevent the powdery feeling and look on my cheeks.

*Tarte Clean Slate Poreless Primer

My pores are HUGE!  I hate them.  They are personally one of my biggest skin concerns.  I've heard great things about this primer, and as Tarte is a more natural brand, I don't feel too bad investing in it.

*Any of the Flower Beauty Cream Eyeshadows

I have been to three Walmarts and not one of them has carried the Flower Beauty line.  I've heard great things about these cream shadows, and just have to bite the bullet and order a few online.

*Organic Tea Tree Oil

I've been reading up on all of the wonders of tea tree oil, and I definitely want to invest in some!  Using it as a blemish treatment is on top of my list.

*Special Occasion Foundation

I'm in the market for a high coverage, special occasion "going out" type of foundation.  I have to go into Sephora and get matched with that new funky machine and ask their opinion.  A lot of people have told me Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation but I have dry skin and clay and dryness is not usually a good combo!

What's on your beauty fall lust list?  Anything I should be adding to mine!

August Ipsy/Glam Bag

The theme of this month's Glam Bag is Glam Academy.  As a teacher who is dreading going back to school, it's not the friendliest of themes, but I guess I'll take it.  This bag was a good assortment of products, but didn't excite me as much as last month's bag.

Here's what I got:

*Noya Vanilla Lip Balm- This product is all-natural, preservative free and not tested on animals.  I have tons of lip balms/chapsticks but as I've been trying to slowly migrate to using more natural products this is a great addition to my collection.

*Chella Dazzling Dark Brown Eyebrow Color- This is another brand that I've never tried before.  It's a tad bit dark for my brows so I'm going to see how it works as a brown eyeliner.

*Pixi Lash Booster Mascara- I've seen this brand at Target hundreds of times but I've never used any of their products.  I love getting mascara samples, because they are guaranteed to be samples I always use.

*Michael Todd Jojoba Charcoal Facial Scrub- This brand is all over Youtube, so much to the point that I've gotten annoyed with it and I've never used one of the products before.  I am excited to try this one out, because I know this is a popular natural brand.  I just hope it's not too harsh or drying for my skin.

*MICA Beauty Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in Bronze- This actually looks like a super, beautiful shimmery color but I'm such a klutz when it comes to loose pigment that I will probably save this for a giveaway.

The bag this month is a bit cuter than last month's bag, but I wish they didn't put the brand name all over the bag and just left it with the cute design.

I know that different bags come with different products..if you get the Ipsy bag, what did you receive?

Tip Thursday: Sandal Relief

Are your feet tired of sandals and summer flats?  I know my feet take such a beating during the summer time.  I have a very high arch and normally walking around in flats or flip flops leaves my feet, ankles and even legs aching pretty badly.  Aside from going to get a pedicure and a foot rub, a super easy and super cheap remedy is to roll your foot back and forth over a frozen water bottle.  I would do this for as long as you can tolerate the cold.  It really helps ease and relax the muscles in your foot and provides temporary relief.

Please excuse my RATCHET feet and toes

Lia Sophia Haul

A few weeks ago I held a Lia Sophia party.  My friend Leanna has recently become an advisor, so I wanted to help her out with a party and of course get some jewelry.  In case you aren't familiar with Lia Sophia, it's a direct selling jewelry company where people can have jewelry parties to earn free products.  As the "hostess" of the party I was entitled to a lot of benefits including 40% of my party sales in free jewelry and up to 4 items in the catalog for a highly discounted price.  I ended up doing quite well at my party and was able to get a lot of pieces for myself and some for gifts and even one for a future giveaway.

Here's my haul!

Bracelets and Earrings

*Unrivaled- Silver Hoops
*Birds of a Feather- Turquoise Chandelier Earrings
*Delicate One- Diamond Studs
*Chained- Gold Studs
*For You- Gold Bangles Set
*Ladylike- Bow Bracelet

*Great Expectations- I love this necklace, because it's actually 3 in 1.  These necklaces can all be worn together, like shown, or separated and worn alone or in any combination.  I love the versatility!

*Curio- This piece is my ABSOLUTE favorite.  I think it's an amazing statement necklace.

*My Girls- This is another 3 in 1 necklace.

Hosting a jewelry party is a great way to have a girls night and to hopefully land some free jewelry in the process.  Have you guys ever had any kind of home based party?  I'd love to have more and need some recommendations!

July Random Favorites

I don't always just reach for beauty products during a month.  I also reach for a lot of random products.  Here's the "randos" I was loving in July.

*Alba Botanica: Shave Cream, Aloe Mint
I bought this during my Jersey shopping spree at Ricky's.  I love this stuff.  It looks like a hair gel and has the best fresh scent.  It really helps a razor glide over the skin and the mint I feel really helps relax my legs because it almost tingles.

*Flat Out Rosemary and Olive Oil Flat Breads- I've been on a flat bread making roll lately and it's all because of these babies.  I don't really taste the rosemary and olive oil flavor but these are great low calorie bases for all kinds of flat breads.  My favorite is pesto, spinach, tomato, grilled chicken and a splash of balsamic.

*My public library- Since I'm off for the summer I've gotten to read a ton and also spend a lot of time in my local library.  There selection has been incredible lately and I've been averaging about a book a week.  This book, Banished, was a great non-fiction read.

*The Krazy Coupon Lady-  Since I've started couponing again, The Krazy Coupon Lady has become my Bible lol.  I used to visit Coupon Diva, but I feel that this site is a lot more comprehensive and user friendly.

*Back to School Hair Videos- As a teacher, I still do technically have a "Back to school time".  I love the back to school tutorials that have been posted on Youtube lately, as they are heat free, easy and super quick.  I don't like to spend too much time on my hair in the mornings so these tutorials will be helpful once it's back to work time.

What were your random favorites for the month of July? Any must read books?
