My Cruelty Free Favorites So Far…Face Edition

So it's no secret that I have been on a journey to go cruelty free.  Sometimes I feel I sound a bit preachy about it and also hypocritical since I do eat meat and animal products.  My thought process though is that an animal shouldn't suffer so my eyes could shimmer or my lips look glossy.

This lead to my journey to go cruelty free and it hasn't been as easy as I thought.  I thought I would find this big ol' list of cruelty free companies and just buy all of my products from them.  I didn't know that companies change their cruelty free status almost daily and that there are a lot more companies that test on animals that don't.

So my cruelty free lust list changes quite frequently.  I decided to do a series on my cruelty free favorites so far in a variety of categories.  My favorites are pretty limited brand wise as I haven't even scratched the surface of purchasing indie brands yet, but I'm pretty happy with where I am at now with my products.

If there is any discrepancy in whether a brand I mention is or isn't cruelty free, please comment and let me know!

Tinted Moisturizer/BB Cream: Physician's Formula CC+ Cream
Tammy sent me this CC cream for the first time and it's amazing.  The coverage is truly fantastic and the staying power is amazing.  It can be a bit tricky to apply at times as it tends to get brush marks, but I find applying it with my fingers or sponge leaves a beautiful finish.

Medium Coverage Foundation: Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Foundation
I got this foundation in a Josie Maran set and I really like it.  The coverage is a tad bit more than my CC cream, but it doesn't last as long during those hot summer months.  I like that this leaves my skin feeling nicer than before I put it on.

Full Coverage Foundation: Wet and Wild Coverall Foundation
I have had this foundation for a while and found that I didn't like the application of it with a brush.  However, when applied with my Real Techniques sponge it's perfect!  It layers beautifully and leaves great full coverage.  This is a great special event foundation.

Powder Foundation: Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Powder Foundation
This came in the same set that my Josie Maran liquid foundation came in and I actually ended up using this product more.  This product is great when I'm having a great skin day and just need something to even everything out, but I use it more frequently to set my CC cream and the two together provides the most beautiful and natural looking coverage.

Powder: Mally Beauty Diamond Un-Powder
If I don't want to bump up the coverage of my CC cream with the above mentioned powder foundation, I use this.  This is a face powder with a slight tinge of yellow which really helps brighten things up.  It adds a subtle glow to the face for those mornings where your skin really lacks luster.

Finishing Powder: ELF High Definition Powder
This super affordable powder has lasted me forever and really helps blur things out when applied over all of my face makeup.  Oh, and can the price tag of $6 be beat? I don't think so.

Undereye Concealer: Physician's Formula All in 1 Super BB Concealer
At first I wasn't a big fan of this concealer, but the more I used it, the more I enjoyed it.  It doesn't cover all of my darkness, but it provides enough coverage and enough brightness to make sure my eyes look awake, especially under my glasses.

Concealer: Younique Mineral Touch Cream Foundation
I got this foundation over the summer and I didn't love the super thick cream consistency of it for all over my face.  However, when I began using it as a concealer I loved it!  It covers blemishes and the redness around my nose perfectly.

Bronzer, Blush and Highlighter

Bronzer: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer
A beautiful bronzer that smells like chocolate?  Can it get any better?  This deep brown bronzer doesn't contain a trace of orange, but also doesn't look muddy at all.  It works with a light hand for my pale skin and a heavier hand for when I'm carrying a tan.

Blush: Any Wet and Wild Blushes
Wet and Wild blushes are not only a great product for the price, but a great product for any price.  They are incredibly pigmented and not powdery at all.  The color range is great and they can be found at any drugstore.  I absolutely love these blushes!

Highlighter: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Incandescent Light
This palette altogether is amazing, but the highlight color is just perfection.  It's not that stark white or yellow champagne, it's just the perfect angelic glow.  If you haven't tried one of the Ambient Lighting Powders I would highly suggest you check them out!

This concludes round one of my cruelty free favorites!

Are any of these products on your favorites list?
