Hello! I recently swapped with the lovely Tammy. We sort of a did a blind swap, but just gave a list of our likes and dislikes and worked from that. She has a Face Shop near her so I wanted a skin care themed swap. Let me tell you-my Jersey girl hooked me up!!!

The card

How cute and summery is this??

Bare Minerals Matte sample with baby kabuki-in my perfect shade!

Physicians Formula Bronzer Strip

I heard this is comparable to the Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Strips. I've never tried that, but I can tell you-this is love! I use it over a matte bronzer and it just gives this perfect glow.

Cocoa Butter Sample-Yummy!

Face Shop Lashes

OMG! Can you look at these friggin lashes? These are gorgeous. The criss-cross pattern is to die for. I'm in a wedding on October and I think I will be saving these for that occasion!

OPI Massage Lotion

I've been doing my own nails lately, so this will be a huge help. Plus it smells so fresh!

Mac Shadow-Pin Curl

OMG! I love this shadow. It's like a light taupey color? I don't know what color it is, but it gives my eyes this beautiful sheen and really helps to open them up.

I popped these babies right in the fridge. Tomorrow I'm off and I plan a day of nails, trashy tv and POCKY!

Sheet Masks Galore!!!!

Tammy-you hooked me up big time! Thank you so much! I can't wait to arrange an Ikea/Face Shop date!!

Another aspect to Fabulously Thrifty?

Hello lovelies!

Recently I weighed myself (which I hate doing) and realized that I am at my heaviest ever. Granted my heaviest ever is still pretty small, but I don't feel healthy lately. I walk from one building to the other at my job and I'm out of breath and I'm always, always tired!

I recently started working out with one of my bff's Bia, is on a quest to become a vegeterian. I love my chicken and beef WAY too much to become a vegeterian, but I thought why not support her and became a flexitarian. When I'm with Bia I'll eat vegeterian approved meals (which so far have been delish) and have my chicken infused meals when I'm at home.

Ok, so why am I telling you all of this? Well, I thought this would be an interesting thing to blog about, making myself better and healthier one day at a time. I didn't know if I should infuse it into this blog or make it a seperate blog. Basically, I just wanted to know if anyone would be interested in reading it? I'd guess it sort of be an accountability thing for me (have to show and track progress) and a way to get good recipes and work outs for the readers. Let me know loves!

Haulage Weekend

Hello lovelies!

Last week and last weekend I went on a major haulage weekend. Ok, not too major, because nothing at the outlets sparked my interest enough to go crazy. I did pick up some good stuff online.

I made my first ever DSK purchase! I purchased Eki's summer necklace (even though it has pink in it and I hate pink!) Steph sent it out super quick and I got it and absolutely love it! It just sparkles and I find myself playing with it a million times a day.

Krystal's Blog Sale:

I was browsing through the new blog sale directory and stumbled upon Krystal's blog sale. Great prices and products. I bought my FIRST Coastal Scents product-the 28 neutral palette! Total love! I also bought two NYX jumbo pencils in "pots and pans" and "cottage cheese" to add to my bases collection. Thanks for fab products at fab prices and super quick delivery Krystal!

Then this weekend I also stopped at the outlets in the Poconos. I had been saving for weeks to do some serious clothing damage for my upcoming student teaching internship. Needless to say, I was super disappointed. I guess since they had sold out of so much of the summer clearance and still hadn't fully stocked the fall stuff that it was a bad transition time to go.

I did manage to pick up a wallet from the BR outlet for $20:

..And the Little Darlings Pink Lips set from this past holiday collection from the CCO ($15). Let me tell you-this store had TONS of Mac, but I hated this store. I was the only one in there and the woman followed me around like I was going to steal was so annoying! I probably would have bought a lot more if I wasn't stared down at like some damn criminal.

And some adorable accessories from J.Crew. I LOVE this floral belt and it was only $8. Also, I jumped on the headband wagon thanks to Blair from GG. This lil' cutie was $3.

Finally, after getting home I stopped at Target and got the cutest train case. It's my first, baby's first train case lol. It's Caboodles and it seriously takes me back in the day when Caboodles were cheap plastic and neon colored. Ahh, the good ol' days. This cute little guy was $22. Let me tell you though, it has a lot of space and opens super wide. I love so far. I'll take some pics when I fill it!

Freebie? Everyone loves a freebie!

I will admit, I am a book nerd. Anytime I can pull myself away from the internet and don't have to read 100 pages of a textbook, I will be reading. My main literary vice is chick lit, but really I'll read anything. I was reading my mom's Woman's Day mag (don't hate! I told you I wanted to be like Martha!) and came across a site for free ebooks. Click here to gain access to thousands of free ebooks. Some of it isn't the most up to date, but they have really interesting books ranging all subjects. Hey-when you're done reading your blogs and still bored at work...head over there lol

Lia Sophia

Hello ladies!

Last summer I went to my first Lia Sophia jewelry party and fell in love. The jewelry, which so didn't look my style in the catalog, came to life and I ordered wayyyy too many pieces. However, with the great deals, it wasn't too bad. What I loved about Lia Sophia is their customer satisfaction guarantee. Say 10 years from now I begin to hate the necklace that I ordered that summer day. As long as I have the receipt, I can exchange it for anything the same price in the catalog. (I've all ready utilzed this once when I grew tired of a ring)

So my local Lia Sophia host is in a contest to have the most catalog sales. I'm trying to help her out by having a catalog fiesta of my own. The current special is buy one item, get two half off! Not too shabby.

If you see anything you're interested in, shoot me an email at and I'll have my representative, Zena Clancy, get in touch with you. Let's add to your jewelry collections lady (and help me and Zena out :) )

DSK Giveaway

Ok, so I must be the last person in this little blogger community of ours to order from DSK Jewelry. I've been lurking for a while, ok a long while, and have loved so many pieces, I really don't know why I haven't ordered before to be honest with you lol. I'm just slow I guess. So when I saw this piece on Eki and DSK's blog, I knew I had to have it!

I can't wait to get this little bugger in the mail!

If you haven't had the opportunity to try out DSK jewels yet, this may be your chance. She is having a giveaway to celebrate her reaching 300 followers. What does the winner get? Oh, only three beautiful handcrafted pieces. So get your butts to the link and start buying and entering!

Review-Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner

A couple of weeks ago I bought a couple of the Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liners that were available in the Benefit "Gals Night Out" kit. The two stars of this kit was the two creaseless shadows. The colors were Birthday Suit and Skinny Jeans. One was a beautiful neutral color and the other a charcoal grey.

The colors are beautiful as base colors. I haven't worn them alone yet, so I can't really comment on that. As bases they are creaseless. I don't use a primer underneath and my shadows stay put and stay creaseless all day. The only con is they are SUPER shimmery. I'm just learning how to blend so all I use really is shimmery shadows and the shimmery shadow on top of the super shimmery base just means its a bit too shimmery sometimes.

With Flash

With out Flash

-Really are creaseless
-Pigmented for a base color

-Super shimmery
-Expensive at $19 a pop

Price: $19
Where to buy: Sephora or
Would I buy again or in more colors: Yes, but I think I'll try Mac paint pots first-more affordable!

Review-Sigma Brushes

After seeing reviews of these brushes from Enkore and reading tons about them, I decided to get my own. Supposedly, they are comparable Mac dupes. Considering I've never used Mac brushes, the reviews are only based on the brushes themselves and not comparing them to the Mac brushes. However, I'll use the Mac brush descriptions so you can get an idea of what the brushes should be used for.

Sigma 187:

Several weeks ago I ordered some brushes from Sigma Makeup.
Price: $16

Mac Brush Description:
A large full circular brush used for lightweight application and blending of face powder or pigments. Use to create soft layers or add textures.

I was really excited to try this brush as I had never tried a duo-fibre brush before. I wanted to use this for lightweight foundation application to achieve that "airbrush" finish I had read so much about. After initially washing it, I decided to use it with a gel blush at first to test it's shedding. I am s0o0o glad I didn't use it for an all over face application, because this baby shed! I'm going to wash it a couple more times in hopes that it cuts down on some shedding. It did work really well to blend in my NYX cream blush, but it wasn't worth the frustration of picking off the hairs from my cheeks!

Would I recommend to a friend?: As of now, no. I hope that will change.

Sigma 150:

Price: $16

Mac Brush Description:
Full and dense for dusting loose or pressed powder on face or body. This brush is particularly good for blush application with soft fibers that form a full, rounded shape.

This brush does shed, but not nearly as much as the 187. I love to use this for my bronzer. I use a loose bronzer from BE and this gives me a perfect application. I also use this to blend bronzer down my neck and chest. This baby is a keeper.

Would I recommend to a friend?: Yes!

Sigma 224

Price: $9

Mac Brush Description:
For controlled eye shadow application. This brush has soft fibers which taper to form a medium size dome shape.

I can barely watch a Youtube vid with out hearing about the 224. I really love this brush. It doesn't shed at all and works amazingly as a blending brush, applying an all over wash of color, or applying a highlight color to the brow bone.

Would I recommend to a friend: Yes!

Sigma 219

Price: $9

Mac Brush Description:
For precision shading on lid, in eye crease or along lash line. The soft, smooth fibers of this brush are gathered into a pencil-shaped tip. It is ideal for blending eyeliner into eye shadow to create a smoky looking eye.

This is my fave brush of the bunch! I had never used a pencil brush before and I need more of these in my life. This is the perfect brush to give me that "outer v" or to blend out liner lines to give a soft smudged look. This brush is amazeballs (in the words of Perez Hilton).

Would I recommend to a friend: Yes! And buy 2!

Sigma 239

Price: $9

Mac Brush Description:
Soft and dense with a rounded finish. Can be used to apply pressed or loose eye shadows and pigments. Ideal to build intense color on the eyelid. Natural bristles.

This is a really good brush to pack on shadow and pigments. It's a big bigger and more dense than my ELF shadow brush, but they feel and act exactly the same. I don't have a lot of lid space though, so this one wasn't my fave.

Would I recommend to a friend?: Maybe, if they wanted a bigger alternative to the ELF shadow brush.

Review-Aveeno Positively Smooth Shower and Shave Cream

A couple of weeks ago I was browsing through the skin care and cosmetics aisles at Wal-Mart and came across a clearence section with this body wash in it. According to the bottle it helps you shave less often, prevents nicks and cuts and acts as a moisturizing body wash. I thought this was a great combo and snatched it up for the $4 clearence price.

When I got it home and into the shower I was grossed out by the texture. It reminded me of something, well something that can't be written here, so to keep it PG it reminded me of rubber cement. It didn't smooth on my legs easily and I didn't really feel moisturized after using it. It did however, provide a good close shave when used with my Venus vibrance.

See the yucky texture?

In terms of shaving less, I don't really know about that one. It does appear to keep my legs smoother for an extra day, so I will keep it in my shower until it runs out.

Price: $4-$7
Where to purchase: Drugstores,Walmart,Target,etc.
Would I buy again: No

Review-Philosophy-Completely Clear

A couple of months ago, on my quest for a skincare system, I purchased Philosophy's Completely Clear Skin System.

My skin isn't an acne-fest (what an image right?!), but around that time of the month I get some bad break outs so I wanted to look for an acne system that also would help reduce the appearance of my acne scars. I read up some reviews and headed to try Philosophy.

The kit includes an oil-free cleanser:

It's ingredients are:
Salicylic Acid 0.5%, Water, 1&3 Propanediol, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Olive Oil Peg-7 Esters, Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Acacia Senegal Gum, Sodium Benzotriazolyl Butylphenol Sulfonate, Buteth-3, Tributyl Citrate, Disodium Edta, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate.

Overall, the cleanser isn't too bad. It's a foaming cleanser and one pump is all you need. However, it does leave a lot of make up behind which is kind of annoying.

Retinol Clarifying Lotion:

The ingredients are:
Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Emulsifying Wax, Glycerin, C10-30 Cholesterol/Lanosterol Esters, Cetyl Ricinoleate, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Retinol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ascorbic Acid, Bisabolol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Peg-10 Soy Sterol, Stearic Acid, Methyl Methacrylate/Glycol Dimethacrylate Crosspolymer, Propyl Gallate, Polysorbate 20, Triethanolamine, Disodium Edta, Bht, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol.

This to me is the only winner of the set. I use this every other day to help clear up my acne scars and any facial redness. This in conjuction with my bio-oil, has really helped lighten the acne scars in my chin area.

All over acne treatment:

It's ingredients:
Salicylic Acid 0.5%, Water, Sd Alcohol 40, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Polysilicone-11, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Polyacrylamide, Oligopeptide-10, Laureth-7, Trimethylpentanediol/Adipic Acid Copolymer, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Trimethylsiloxy Phenyl Dimethicone, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hydroxide, Ethoxydiglycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Hexylene Glycol.

This wasn't too bad. It wasn't nearly as drying as other acne treatments, but I only used it every other day. However, it didn't prevent my womanly break outs at all, so to me, it was kind of pointless.

Acne Spot Treatment:

I forgot to take a pic. I think it wasn't subconsciously, because this stuff sucked!

It's ingredients:
Sulfur 3.0%, Water, Dimethicone, Glycereth-18, Butylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sclerotium Gum, Oligopeptide-10, Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Polysilicone-11, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Laureth-7, Steareth-2, Salicylic Acid, Ethoxydiglycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glyceryl Stearate, Stearyl Alcohol, Disodium Edta, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Chlorphenesin.

I put this on as soon as I felt a blemish start to rumble beneath the surface. Did it prevent the pimple from forming? No! Did it shorten it's life span? No! This stuff was pointless!!

Price: $35
Where to purchase: Sephora and
Would I buy again: No! However, I do think I'll be purchasing a full size of the retinol lotion.

Next stop-maybe boscia?

Style Challenge-Maxi Dress

I have just sucked with posting pics of my daily outfits. I honestly don't know how people do it. I always say I'm going to do it as soon as I get home, and I forget and begin working out or shower. So why not get my lazy butt up like 1 minute earlier and try to do it then? I'm going to force myself to do it every day this week. Let's see if I can stick to it.

Anywho, this is my first maxi dress. I bought it for my cruise the day I met my Kendall love. I always thought that short girls couldn't wear maxi dress. Maybe we can't, but i feel stylish and oh so comfy in it.

Maxi Dress-F21-$14
Grey shrug-Filene's-$15
