Face of The Day

Hello lovelies! Today was my school's Halloween parade and party. I can go on and on about how cute 6 and 7 year olds are dressed as princesses and werewolves, but I was excited to be provided with the opportunity to wear more eye make up. Yes, liquid liner is actually considered a lot of eye make up for a 2nd grade teacher in my school lol.

The goods:

Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Ivory
NYX Concealer in Green on red spots and around nose
ELF Corrective Concealer in Peach under eyes
ELF Studio Concealer for under eye area
NYX Concealer Pot in Light
BE Mineral Veil

Mac Emote to contour
Mac MSF in Blonde
ELF Studio Highlighter (other end of under eye concealer) on the cheek bones, down the bridge of the nose and above cupids bow)

Plain ol' vaseline

Benefit Eye Bright as a primer
FLIRT LE Palette
-champagney tan on lid
-muted silver on highlight and inner corner
-navy blue (matte) on crease
-sparkly navy blue on outer corner
-ELF Liquid Liner Pen in black
-Brows- ELF studio line eye brow kit

I always try to wear liner on my eyes because my eyes will pretty much disappear under my glasses, but lately I've been avoiding mascaras since they just end up getting my glasses dirty.

Lately I've really been into super neutral eyes with a "halo" of a color like navy, forest green or a deep mauve. It allows me to keep my eyes neutral for school, but still have a tiny bit of fun.

I can NOT take a good make up pic for the life of me. I've tried natural light, all my camera settings. Do I really have to go outside and look like a weirdo? I'm going to try to find some articles, but I would love any advice from my blogga ladies!

What Have I Been Up To?

God, have I been MIA or what?? I'm so sorry lovelies! The past couple of weeks have been loco for me. My schedule is getting a bit more normal now, so I would like to post at least 2x a week.

Here is what my past 2 weeks have been like for me:

As many of you know I'm doing my student teaching now for my masters in education. I have to do three different classroom settings and my first setting was in a 4th grade classroom for 7 weeks. To say I fell in love with the students, the teacher, the school, the grade, everything, would be an understatement. I got some of the most lovely cards and gifts from my students on my last day that I swear to you I almost cried.

My lovely 4th grade class and teacher <3

I chopped my hair off! Well, kind of. This is the shortest I've ever had my hair with the exception of a terrible short cut in college. It's a long bob with a side swept bang that never wants to look as good as when the salon lady does it lol. It's pretty much one length, but I have seriously heavy hair so I needed some long layers to give it a bit of lift.

I was in a wedding! My first friend to get engaged got married last weekend and I was a bridesmaid! My friend Ash and Zach met in college and then moved to Iowa right after graduation. I have been bugging her for information lately since her and Zach moved to Iowa not knowing a soul, which is what I'll be doing in January moving to ATL with Jason. She was a BEAUTIFUL bride. I did her make up, but was so hectic that day did not even take a close up pic of it. Luckily, she doesn't need a lot of make up because she has really good skin and isn't a dramatic make up wearer. It was freeeeeezing, but it was a beautiful day.

Lastly, my skin has SUCKED lately. I guess it's the seasonal change and maybe my skin has made an adjustment to the face wash I've been using? I don't know, but it sucks. Any suggestions on a face wash to try for dry, yet tempremental skin? Help me!

Tag-you're it!

I've been totally out of the blogosphere lately thanks to my busy schedule AND having the flu! Yup, dirty second graders gave me the flu lol. Now that I have the energy to actually type, I've been catching up on my blogging lovies. My Jersey girl Tammy tagged me in a Dinner Party Tag!

1. What books are on your favorite shelf? Well I'm not that OCD about my books so they're not all on ONE shelf, but my favorite books are: Twilight Series, anything by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Shopaholic Series and currently reading and loving the Queen of Babble

2. What DVDs are on your favorite shelf? Again I'm not OCD about my DVDs =P
When Harry Met Sally (all time fave!!!), Breakfast Club, Erin Brockovich, Oceans 11 and 13 (12 sucked!), Harry Potter flicks, Slumdog and Girls Next Door series lol

3. What are your two favorite cookbooks? Ughh..I LIVE for cookbooks! My faves: The 2 Hungrygirl Cookbooks, Cook Yourself Thin, anything by Rachel Ray!

4. Select 1-3 recipes you will cook for your special guests. I go with my simple and special faves

-Tomato, Pesto, Spinach pizza
-WW pasta, pesto, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, feta and parm!
-Diet coke chocolate cake- try it- can of diet coke and chocolate cake mix and THATS IT

5. What will we be drinking that's available? Diet coke! Aqua, juices and white zinfandel

Workouts on the Cheap

I've made it known that I'm not a gym type of gal. Not only do I want to spend the money on the fees, I'm just not comfortable going to the gym. It's too competitive for me and I feel like I'm oogled out and it's just not my scene. I'm definitely a work out dvd type of gal. All though work out dvds are usually cheap on Amazon or Best Buy, there are just so many options out there how do we know what to buy?

Well, if you have cable through a major cable provider with on demand services, you can probably try tons of work outs for free! I subscribe to Verizon Fios and get free On Demand services through Exercise TV. I've tried work outs varying from yoga, to pilates, to Carmen Electra's Stripaerobics, to my new current fave Lisa Rinna's Dancing with the Stars workouts. They even have my fave Jillian Michael's workouts and Girls Next Door workouts.

Contact your service provider or play around with your remote to see if you have free on demand services!

Blogger Loving!!!

The lovely and beautiful Vanessa sent me a little surprise gift for, get this!, sending her a birthday gift! LoL I had a blog sale a while back and she bought a Dooney and Bourke bag. This gave me the perfect opportunity to send her some little gifts with out blowing my cover and asking her for her address.

She is one of the sweetest bloggers out there and has the brightest, most fun looks!

Here are my goodies:

She blessed me with the Sonia Kashuk bent liner brush! This is like an HG item for many, including her. I'm a newbie with cream liners and I heard that this brush makes it super easy! I'm so excited to play with this.

The next item was the Melt Away Stress lotion. This stuff is amazing-it's with lavendar and chamomile. The texture really is creamy and will be perfect for the winter.

She also got me my first Essie polish! This is a bright, summery color named "Txt Me". After the wedding I'm going to be in this weekend, I'm painting my toes this ASAP!

Thank you so much Vanessa! Be prepared for retribution!

FIRST Look of the Day

Hello lovelies!

A couple of weeks ago the amazing Pink wrote a blog post about self-confidence. The post was amazing and really got me thinking about my own self confidence. I read an overwhelming amount of beauty blogs, yet I never post a look of the day or try to get advice on my own make up skills. I can say it's because my make up skills aren't as good as other bloggers, but that's not the reason. I've never been confident about the way I look, and that feeling still resonates within me today. I hate my skin and my hair and my fat face and my teeth and my smile, and the list can go on and on. I hate pictures of just myself and rarely take them.

However, after reading her post and doing some soul searching about where my life is going, I asked myself, "WHY?" Why am I so down on myself? Twenty years from now when my boobs are hitting the floor and wrinkles are creeping there way on my face, I'm going to be so pissed I didn't think I was beautiful when I was 24. So thank you to Pink and my lovely blogger friends who have not only helped me learn some sick make up skills, but feel a bit more beautiful.

So allow me to introduce you to my first look of the day with my beyond terrible camera and Revlon lashes that wouldn't stay put lol:

I did a really soft daytime smokey eye, I wore this to work and got lots of compilments from my 10 year old students lol.

Mark moisturizer
Avon Magix Primer
NYX Green Concleaer Stick
NYX Concealer in a Jar
ELF Orange/Peachy under eye corrector
ELF concealer (Studio line)
EDM Ivory Foundation
BE Mineral Veil
ELF Studio Line Golden Bronzer all over

Mac MSF Blonde

ELF Plumping Gloss in Ruby Slippers

Revlon Cream Shadow in Champagne Shimmer (soo old!)
ELF Smokey Eye Palette (silver and cream shadows only, couldn't wear the black to work!)
ELF Waterproof liner pen in black
Revlon lashes in Intensifying
Clinique All About Eyes mascara

This look is so nice for the day and goes well with my glasses. I didn't wear the lashes to work obviously, doesn't work well with glasses lol.

These Revlon lashes were gorgeous! However, the adhesive strip was awful! The reviews I've read about the lashes not staying put at the outer corner were totally true. I carefully applied them and within minutes the end was popping up a bit. This was only my second try with lashes, but my first results with Duo lash glue were a lot better. I'm just going to use these lashes with Duo.

MPBB Review: Chocolate Mask

In September's My Pretty Pink Box I received a chocolate mask by Montagne Jennesse. The package says it's an anti-stress mask and is good for deep pore cleansing for normal, dry and oily skin. I definitely fall in the dry range and I can bathe in chocolate so I was really excited to try this mask out.

See how excited I was!

Product Description from the site:

Chocolate, yes, it’s chocolate. A guilt free treat! This masque offers a feast of creamy delights – it’s outrageous! This deep cleansing masque helps unblock pores, moisturises and heals for skin that glows with health. It smells incredible – imagine these – Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter – creamy heaven. Enjoy!

There was enough in this package for two uses and I have a big ol' face so that's pretty good. I didn't notice a huge difference in my skin or anything, but it kept my skin calm and it smelled delicious. I can't express any skin benefits to this, but stress- relief? HELL YES! Sitting there with my face smelling like chocolate made me feel like I was in Wonka World.

Good for the skin? I can't tell after only two uses
Good for the soul? Amazing, yes!
Good for the waistline? Not so much, had to indulge in a total Hershey kisses craving after using this mask lol

A mini Haul

This is a mini haul from like 9 billion years ago! A while back Tammy was having a blog sale. Her prices were like beyond amazing, so I decided to partake in some beauty luxury.

I ordered:

Benefit Georgia blush- a peachy blush
Benefit Lemon Aide- an eye neutralizer and primer
Mac lippies in Soft Pause and All's Fair

The lippies are super dark, but I dab it on my lips after applying some lip balm and it gives me a sheer lip stain like appearance. I actually really like the look of these lippies on, because it gives my pale skin a more porcelain like appearance.

The Lemon Aide is awesome. It completely neutralizes the discoloration in my eyes. In terms of a crease proof primer though it's not the best. For just going to work with a subtle neutral eye though it works. Even if I want to just wear this, it completely brightens up my eye area.

The blush was kind of dissapointing. To be honest, I'm so glad that I got this so cheap from Tammy. I don't know if I'm too pale for it or what, but it left a shimmer on my cheek and nothing else, no color what so ever! I used the brush that it came with and a couple different blush brushes and NADA! Save your money on this product.
