Cruise and Bermuda Roundup

So yesterday Jason and I returned from our cruise to Bermuda and it was the best time that I've ever had! Seriously, if you are thinking of planning a vacation. Please, please choose a cruise!

We took the Royal Carribean's Explorer of the Seas out of Bayonne to Bermuda for a 5 night cruise.

The boat:

The promenade-where the shops and cafes were

The casino floor-it was amaziiiing

The view from the pool

Our tiny miniature stateroom-I had it decorated for Jason's birthday

The boat was absolutely amazing. They had a general pool and hot tub and an adults only pool and hot tub which was really nice. We spent a lot of our time playing mini golf and ping pong. We did miss out on the rock climbing wall and ice skating though because Jason didn't pack long pants. He didn't want to go ice skating in his suit lol.

Our first day-the safety drill:

Safety first ladies and gents, safety first!!

Formal night, we'd dress up in anything to eat the food, we seriously ate our way through that ship lol:

We clean up nicely. This dress was from Dress Barn and I absolutely adore it!!!

We were staying next to these drunken Long Island douchebags who decided to come back beyond wasted every night at around 4 a.m. and decided to scream across the halls to their fellow LI skanks and blast rap music..but I wasn't bitter! The morning we were coming into Bermuda we just couldn't fall back asleep so we decided to watch the sunrise and watch the boat come into was gorgeous:

Yes, we were as exhausted as we looked lol

Bermuda was HEAVEN-Pink sand beaches, the friendliest people and the clearest water:

Our bus ride to the beach

Overall, the trip was AMAZZZZING! We want to plan a trip back to Bermuda even though it's super expensive, as in gas is $14 a gallon and houses, even the tiniest, start at a million.

Evolution of Style

So this is my attempt at color, lol. Color normally frightens me and I've gradually been trying to add it to my wardrobe. I now have a couple of greens, blues and aquas. I'm working on it.

Black cami-F21-$3.50
Green blouse-BR Outlet-$13
Grey skinnies-ON-$15
Beaded necklace-Lia Sophia-hostess gift from a jewelry party
Silver necklace-Tiffany-gifted

I really adore this necklace. It's such a statement piece and really adds punch to an outfit of solids. It looks heavy, but it really isn't and works perfectly with diamond studs or pearl earrings.

Forever21 introduces Love 21

I'm not ashamed to admit that I LOVE me some Forever 21. Some of their stuff is just horrible, but if you dig enough (either through the store or website) you can find some cute, non-dispsable like items. I visit their site almost every week to see if they have udated the "Shop the Look" section, which is my fave to get ideas. Last week they said that today they were debuting their first contemporary line, Love 21. I looked at it today and it's tres cute. I don't see a HUGE difference between that and their regular line, but there are some really cute pieces and basics.

So far the in store collection is pretty limited, so check out the whole line on-line lol.

Disney Recap

Hello ladies! I'm back from Florida with nicely sunburnt shoulders and boobs..The rest of me? Pale as always!

We had record breaking high temps in Florida: 94, 96 and 97..I almost friggin died...I don't do well in extreme temps..really cold? Nope! really hot? Hell no!

I went with my mom who was there for a conference, so I spent the mornings alone at the pool with my mags and the afternoons and evenings pushing little kids out of the way to get closer to the rides lol

We stayed at Port Orleans which is like a New Orleans themed hotel. I absolutely LOVED it. The hotel had New Orleans style street signs and walkways and horse drawn carriages. Too friggin cute.

There are some things that I learned at Disney:

-Guys like boobs
-Guys don't care who they are with, kids, wives, Minnie, they will look at boobs
-Seeing how adorable the kids are at Disney makes me so excited to have kids one day
-Seeing how bratty the kids are at Disney makes me terrified to have kids one day
-America is FAT

I think that's about it lol. I have a small Disney haul that I want to share with you ladies but have to get around to taking pics. Some of the items came from the Japan pavillion at Epcot!

Some pics:

It was the Flower and Garden festival at Epcot and the topiaries were amazinnng!

Everyone loves a freebie, don't we? Well, let me introduce you to Vista Print . How this place stays in business? I really have no idea!

My friend Bia got her save the dates from here (postcards and business cards) for free! All she had to pay was shipping. So I had to check this out myself. I registered and I waited to get an email indicating that it was freebie time. About 20 minutes later I did and I ordered a personalized pen, set of note cards and sticky pad. I was still skeptical, but willingly paid the $6.95 shipping. Two weeks later-I received it! It's so cute and all matchy and matchy and just adorable. Again, no idea how this place stays open as they are always running these freebie ads, but it's worth checking out.

I'll be leaving in a couple of hours in a xanex haze on my flight to Florida. I'll be back to regular postings next Monday. Have a great week and weekend everybody!

What to Pack-Theme Park Edition

As I may begin my student teaching in the Fall and be BROKE for who knows how long, I plan on taking a lot of trips this summer. My first trip is to Disney World with my mom (she's ADDICTED). I leave this Wed. and will be back on Sunday. I'm terrified of flying, I mean TERRIFIED, so it'll be interesting flying down there on my own on Wed. since my mom is all ready there.

Any who, I thought since I'm taking a variety of trips to a variety of places this summer, it'd be helpful to create a what to pack article to assist you ladies in the annoying task of packing for those lovely trips.

Theme Park Edition:

1. Sneakers- You'll be walking around and dodging kids all day so this is not the time to be worried about your feet looking cute. Walking around in sandals all day will most likely lead your feet to look nasty and your feet, legs and back to hurt. No fun ladies! Look for a walking or running sneaker like these from Puma:$78

2. Shorts- I am not a short wearing person, in fact I hate shorts. But when it comes to a theme park, in the middle of summer, I make the exception. Work out shorts are an option, but with the sneakers on the feet, it will look like your heading to the gym. Try to stick with a cute denim pair or khaki pair that goes with everything.

Old Navy-$15

3. One pair of capris/linen pants-For those nights with just a bit of chill in the air it's important to have something other than booty shorts lol. This is where a nice pair of capris or a pair of thin linen pants come in handy. Plus, wearing shorts on the plane isn't the most comfy.$39.50

4. A bathing suit-DUH
Not only is a bathing suit the only time you can be really chic and not look out of a place at a theme park or a resort, it's also handy for those water rides. Since theme parks are technically for kids-let's try to keep it PG lol.

F21-$12.80 each piece

5. A convertible skirt/dress- Lots of theme parks now have nice restaurants or bar areas to go along with them (hello Downtown Disney!) This is not the time and place for those shorts and sneakers-look chic and comfy.

Cotton Spandex Jersey Dress-American Apparel-$43.00

6. Flip flops- Flip flops are a summer essential and necessary for the walks to the pool and to wear on water rides. Water logged socks and sneakers are NOT fun. Plus you can wear a pair with your skirt/dress ensemble.

Embellished Thong Sandal-ON-$19.50

7. Airy, yet supportive tank tops- When it's 100 friggin degrees with 100% humidity I don't want to be wearing something super tight. However, at the same time I don't want my girls bouncing all up and down on those damn rides all day. My perfect solution- the racer back tank AND racer back bra.

VS Racerback bra top-$15

VS Racerback Full Coverage Bra-$29.50

8. Sunscreen- Walking around all day in and out of rides and buildings can cause some serious sun damage on the skin. Stick with a higher SPF and remember to re-apply after lunch and after any water rides.

9. Most important- your camera! No one wants to miss out on memories with Mickey and Minnie!
